UNAVCO is a non-profit consortium dedicated to geoscience research and education. They make major contributions to the understanding of our changing planet by combining innovative technology, geodetic observations, and research.
I was engaged by UNAVCO to help with a variety of web projects. First, I served as the Web/UX Lead in the re-design and implementation of a new web site for the high-profile EarthScope project. Also, as part of their Core Web Team, I worked on a number of projects for the enterprise-level site. This included work on the enterprise Information Architecture, and a lead role in Content Auditing & Migration efforts.
For the EarthScope project, my work resulted in a much improved user experience of their web site, and a more streamlined web publishing workflow. My ownership of Content Audit & Migration efforts for unavco.org helped the organization to reach some major milestones on the roadmap for their web site. I also furthered long-term content integration goals by creating Information Architecture documents, leading discussions, and by working collaboratively to develop scalable and sustainable content models.
