Columbia University is a top-tier institution of higher education in New York City. Its graduate schools for Business and Journalism are consistently ranked among the top five in the United States.
I helped to maintain and develop the main Columbia University web site, and also a number of smaller web sites. I was mentored by the Senior Information Architect, learned User-Centered Design principles and practices on the job, and grew from a mere HTML Coder into a Web Designer.
I was part of a small technical group that designed and developed attractive and usable digital products. I worked on everything from interactive online courses to new web site templates affecting thousands of pages.
What I did:
- Usability Testing
- Information Architecture
- User-Interface Design
- Visual Design
- Front-End Development & Testing
- Interactive Prototypes
- Visual Design Documents
- XHTML/CSS Code Development, Testing & Production
